Thank You to Home Depot!

Thank you to Home Depot on Southport Rd. for constructing some protection from the weather on the front porch of the pantry.  This was a job they did at no charge to us.  Done just in time for the Indiana winter's cold, windy weather that can chill our client's to the bone as they wait to be helped.  Thank you Bill and Mike!

Midwest Food Bank taco buffet

We receive free food every month from Midwest Foods and all they ask from us is to help serve the volunteers a lunch one day a year.  This is the second year we have done this and the Taco Buffet is always a big hit.  We always have alot of fun preparing and serving this group of  hardworking volunteers.  They are a wonderful Christian organization who help so many people and groups in need.  We are blessed!

Simply Give Fall Campaign 2015

The Simply Give fall campaign at Meijers on Southport Rd. wrapped up in October and we received $22,450 in gift cards to use to buy food for the pantry.  Meijers part of the amount we received was $15,580.  This is a very generous program they have to help feed the hungry and we are blessed and grateful to be a part of this program.  Thank you to all who participated!

Good Start to beginning of the year

The Simply Give campaign came to an end on Feb. 3 and THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this last campaign.  We received $36,650 from Meijers to buy food for the pantry at Meijers.  It takes alot of funds to support a pantry that doesn't get government subsidies and Meijers is certainly a big factor in us being able to remain open to help feed the hungry.

Also THANK YOU to the Franklin Township Civic League and their food drive for the large donation of food - 3,200 lbs - that several pantry volunteers loaded and then unloaded in one day.
The pictures show just a fraction of the number of boxes loaded & unloaded, we are still emptying them & stocking our shelves.

We would not be able to remain open and continue to serve the community without the generosity of this community in supporting the pantry.  Again, THANK YOU to all who participate both with donations and volunteering.

Who We Are

God's Bounty is a not-for-profit food pantry that exists to distribute food to the needy in Franklin Township, Marion County, Indiana and surrounding area. Our purpose for distributing food is to provide supplemental food to clients who are having difficulty providing food for their families.

Our on going effort is directed towards soliciting funds and food donations in order to meet the needs of our clients.

"The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands." -Deuteronomy 28:12

How We Began

The Franklin Township Minisiterial Association saw a need in their community for an assistance program. A food pantry was discussed and that idea was presented to their congregations. In the Fall of 2010, those interested from all the churches came together and the Steering Committee was formed. There was so much enthusiasm that work soon began on the building that previously had been the parsonage of New Bethel Baptist Church. A wall was taken down, shelves were built by volunteers, furniture was donated, food donations came from those churches, freezers and refrigerators were brought in and by February 3, 2011 the doors of God's Bounty, Inc. were open and ready for clients. Unfortunately, there was a coating of ice on the trees and streets of our community that morning. Out came men with trucks and shovels, removing the ice from our parking lot and sidewalks, but we had no one venture out to our Grand Opening. Every Thursday, since then, we have served many families from Franklin Township and surrounding areas, sharing our “bounties” with our neighbors in need.
