Simply Give at Meijers

Don't forget to contribute to God's Bounty by purchasing a $10 Simply Give card at Meijers on Southport Rd.  When you buy/donate $10 to God's Bounty they match it.  The campaign will be going on until Jan. 3, 2015.  Get the cards by the display near the checkout counters.  Donations from Meijers are a huge part of how we purchase food for the pantry.  Thank you to all of you who have participated in this campaign so far - you are a blessing!

God is Good!

Thank you to Acton United Methodist and Nativity for their food donations to the pantry on Sunday November 23.  It never ceases to amaze me how God works.  Both of these churches had food drives and helped to replenish the shelves with a total of 1200+ lbs. of food.  There were several other donations also from individuals and some scout troops.  You all are amazing and are definitely responding to God's call to feed the hungry.

The Shelves are Empty

November 20 was our busiest day ever!  We saw 128 families feeding over 600 people and the shelves are bare!  We are blessed to be able to serve the people in our community in this way and know that God will provide.  Thank you to all the volunteers that tirelessly worked that day.  You are appreciated!!

Who We Are

God's Bounty is a not-for-profit food pantry that exists to distribute food to the needy in Franklin Township, Marion County, Indiana and surrounding area. Our purpose for distributing food is to provide supplemental food to clients who are having difficulty providing food for their families.

Our on going effort is directed towards soliciting funds and food donations in order to meet the needs of our clients.

"The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands." -Deuteronomy 28:12

How We Began

The Franklin Township Minisiterial Association saw a need in their community for an assistance program. A food pantry was discussed and that idea was presented to their congregations. In the Fall of 2010, those interested from all the churches came together and the Steering Committee was formed. There was so much enthusiasm that work soon began on the building that previously had been the parsonage of New Bethel Baptist Church. A wall was taken down, shelves were built by volunteers, furniture was donated, food donations came from those churches, freezers and refrigerators were brought in and by February 3, 2011 the doors of God's Bounty, Inc. were open and ready for clients. Unfortunately, there was a coating of ice on the trees and streets of our community that morning. Out came men with trucks and shovels, removing the ice from our parking lot and sidewalks, but we had no one venture out to our Grand Opening. Every Thursday, since then, we have served many families from Franklin Township and surrounding areas, sharing our “bounties” with our neighbors in need.
